Dear Brother,--We have had a very pleasant time since you left us on the steam tug, the Saints on board feel well, and are full of music and life. President [John] Parry and council have got things arranged in good style, which will be much to our comfort and benefit on the way to New York.

As it is an usual thing for those who are released to return home to give a short account of their labors, I will do so in a brief manner. I was called at the April conference, held in Salt Lake City, 1866, to go on a mission to Europe. I left for England the 7th of the same month, arrived in Liverpool on the 5th of July, and on the 6th was appointed to preside over the Warwickshire Conference, by Apostle O. [Orson] Pratt, while President B. [Brigham] Young, Junior, was on the continent. There I have labored up to the time of my release. I have many reasons to thank God for preserving my life, keeping me from evil, rising up many friends to administer to my wants, and putting words in my mouth in times of need.

May the Lord our God bless the Saints in Warwickshire Conference with every good thing, for their kindness to me and my brethren who have labored amongst them, and my prayer to God is, that they may continue to go on in the great work of our God, and be instrumental in his hands in bringing many of the honest in heart to a knowledge of the truth. Many have received the gospel the past two years, and there are prospects of many more. May heaven's blessings rest upon you.

Dear Brother, I thank you kindly for the visit you made us in old Coventry, also the brethren who accompanied you—Brothers Preston, Thatcher, and many others who visited us--may the Lord bless you all for the counsel and good instructions.
