"SEVENTY-SEVENTH COMPANY. -- Clara Wheeler, 29 souls. This small company of Staints embarked from Liverpool, England, on the ship, Clara Wheeler, and set sail for New
Orleans on the twenty-fourth of April, 1854; but the writer has not been able to glean anything concerning the voyage of that company.
At different times in 1854, and with different ships, thirty-four members of the Church had embarked for New Orleans; some of these were lost at sea, which proved a warning to others not to embark on a voyage across the Atlantic in any but regularly organized companies of Saints. With the departure of the Clara Wheeler the emigration of Saints from Europe ceased until the latter part of the year. (Millennial Star, Vol
. XVI, p.297)"
