On board the Wyoming, off Queenstown, Aug. 18, 1889.President George Teasdale.
Dear Brother,--The S. S. Wyoming left Liverpool on the 17th, at 2 p.m., and up to the present time we have had very fine weather - the sea has been quite calm and still, and there have been no complaints of seasickness worthy of mention. The compartments of the Saints have been divided into six districts, and two of the brethren have been appointed to look after each district. They hold prayer meetings with the Saints morning and evening, and teach them how to conduct themselves, and to see to their wants, and all the Saints appear to be quite satisfied. Love and unity abound among them, and we receive the best of kindest of treatment from both officers and men. We have received permission to hold meeting with the Saints this afternoon at 2 p.m. I understand we are to leave Queenstown at about noon today.
Accept kind regards from all the brethren, and from your humble servant,
J. P. Toolson. [p.557]
