42 Islington Feb 21. I took the 10:0 train this morning arriving 2:40 p.m. My dear old aunt met me at the station with Flory to see me start off. Brother Teasdale treated me with the greatest kindness possible.
S. [Steam] S. [Ship] Wisconsin 22. We left Liverpool this morning a 10:30. Brothers Smith & King in company.
S. S. W. [Wisconsin] 23. I was quite sick this morning. We arrived at Queenstown this morning took on mail & [- -]. Left at 12 p.m. We are now well on our way. Will not see [- -] until we [- -]. [p. 24]
S. S. Wisconsin 24. I have been quite sick today, not being able to eat breakfast. The wind is fair but high. We are rocked in the cradle of the deep in earnest. I a feeling quite sick.
S. S. W. [Wisconsin] F. [Feb.] 25. I did not brake my fast until dinner. I am feeling better. This evening it is blowing quite a gale but it is taking us a long in the right direction.
26. The sea is running very high, washing the decks in fine shape. Many of the poor passengers are sick & I do not feel the best kind myself. [p. 25]
S. S. W. [Wisconsin] 27. I fell quite bad this morning. I could not eat any breakfast until lunch time. The wind has changed. It is now a head wind. We passed a steamship this evening.
S. S. W. [Wisconsin] Feb 28. We have had a lovely day. Everybody seemed to enjoy it. We passed several ships today. Singing & dancing here indulged in this evening.
March 1 S. S. W. [Wisconsin] longitude 50. It is much colder today than yesterday. I did not rest well last night. Had bad reams of home last night. I do a little preaching each day & give [- -]. [p. 26]
S. S. W. [Wisconsin] March 2 Sunday. We have had a beautiful day, mild as spring time. I attended meeting in the saloon conducted by the captain according the Church of England style. I complimented the captain upon his good voice & tone for I thought that part was a success.
S. S. W. [Wisconsin] 3 March. We have had a rough night. This morning there was but few who were not sick. It has been very cold all day. I have been very bad but feel better now. e I believe that I have had my last seasickness. [p. 27]
Denver March 10. We arrived at 7:30; will leave by the 3 o'clock train in the morning. We have passed through hot sunshine & are now in quite a snowstorm the first that I have seen as severe as this for two years.
Granger 11. We left Denver by the three o'clock train. We arrived at Cheyenne at 6 a.m. & had to wait until 11:30 before our train, which was due at 6:30, came in as it was off the track some five miles back & took some time to get it back on again. We are up in the snow or have been as we are now cutting lower down & some not so deep. [p. 28]
Salt Lake City 12. I left Ogden soon after getting this morning. I checked my bagged & went up to the president's office & saw Brother Woodruff & delivered the message & parcel that Brother Teasdale sent by me. I saw Brother G. Q. & others. Met Brother Bell & Miline. Call on George Lamby. I am stopping at Aunt Allia.
[-] 13". I visited around the city yesterday and today, calling on people who have friends in England. [p. 29]
