The First Company. — The Guion S.S. Nevada sailed from Liverpool for New York on Saturday, April 17th, with 179 emigrating Saints. OF these 89 were from Scandinavia, one from Switzerland, and the rest from Great Britain. There were included in the company 17 returning missionaries. Just before starting President Wells addressed the company, and organized them with Elder E. T. Woolley as president, and Elders C. J. Stromberg and J. L. McMurrin as his counselors. May God' blessing attend them on their journey to Zion. [p.250]
