"THE SECOND COMPANY. -- The second company of emigrating Saints, for the current season, left these shores on Wednesday May 17th, per S.S. Nevada. The company was in charge of Elder William R. Webb, and was made up as follows: English, Scotch and Welsh, 239; Swiss and German, 138; returning elders,15; making a total of 392 souls. The names of the elders returning home are as follows: William R. Webb, John Cooper, John A. McAllister, William Buter, George H. Butler, William G. Davis, Rodney Hillam, Uriah Butt, Thomas R. Jones, John Alder, Abram H. Cannon, George L. Graehl, junior, C. C. Schramm, Ulrich Stauffer, Charles Schneitter. In addition to the above, Elder Newton Farr sailed on the Alaska on Saturday the 13th, and will join the Nevada company in New York. Each vessel started out with the prospect of fine weather and a pleasant voyage over the Atlantic."
