B Hammer, Marion R Stevens, Christian Schwendiman, Max B Rothe, Wilham N Hunsaker, Walter F Corbett, Thomas F Kirkham. From the Netherlands - - James A Hooper, John A Butterworth. From Scandinavia - - James B Christiansen. From Sweden - -Armond F Rundquist, Brigham Monson, Carl G Carlson. With the company were forty-two emigrants, in charge of Elder James H Platt, Elders John A Butterworth and Armond P Rundquist being his assistants. (Mill.Star, 71:46).” [BMMH,1909].
Church Transportation Agent. Incoming Correspondence, 1885-1923. (CR 256 1 Bx 3 fd 16) Presiding Bishop’s Office. February 11, 1909. President Joseph F. Smith and Counselors, Dear Brethren: The company of emigrants leaving Liverpool January 21st, 1909, on the steamship Haverford, for Portland, Maine, in charge of Elder James H. Platt, arrived in Salt Lake City, February 8th, 1909. The company consisted of 17 elders and 41 saints. Had a very rough trip across the ocean and many of the company were sea sick; company had good attention from stewards and other officers. Arrived at Portland February 2nd, all passed the emigration officers. From Portland to Salt Lake City good cars were provided and good attention from the railroad officials. Agent Westerdahl accompanied the company from Omaha to Salt Lake and gave good attention, which was appreciated. All had friends to meet them.
